ForzaInfinity multiplayer in Forza Horizon 2
ForzaInfinity restores online profiles, leaderboards, Rivals, friends, cloud saves and player-hosted Online Free Roam and races in Forza Horizon 2 on PC. It is not FH2MP: it uses a separate networking hook, server and account system.
Before installing: close the game and back up your Azimuth installation, configuration and saves. ForzaInfinity replaces Azimuth's data/bin/azimuth-tls.dll and keeps an original backup. Do not combine multiplayer networking installers unless the authors have verified compatibility.
Requirements
•Your legally obtained Forza Horizon 2 Xbox One files running on Azimuth 0.9.10 (recommended) or 0.9.9.
•Windows, or Linux/Steam Deck through Proton as documented by the developer.
•An offline save created after the opening drive and first car selection.
•A compatible ForzaInfinity server. All players need the same server and profile type.
•Matching game/car databases when driving together. Custom cars and modified stats can cause bad results or failed joins.

Step 1 — Download and install ForzaInfinity
1. Download the ForzaInfinity.zip installer package from the developer's release page. Older guides may reference v0.4.5; check the project documentation for current compatibility.
2. Extract the archive to its own folder. Do not extract every file directly into the Azimuth folder.
3. Close FH2 and Azimuth.
4. Run Install.cmd on Windows, or follow the provided install.sh instructions on Linux/Steam Deck.
5. Let the installer find Azimuth, or select the folder containing azimuth.exe.
6. When asked for a server, enter one you trust and whose operator confirms it is running.
ForzaInfinity has its own installer, updater and dedicated world server, but you still start the game through Azimuth. It is not a standalone replacement for Azimuth.
Step 2 — Choose the network server
The project's installation documentation lists https://infinity.anarqz.dev as its default server. A community announcement also listed https://forza.mythosmails.org as an alternative. These are different servers; availability and policies can change.
Use the address your chosen server operator currently recommends. Your installer stores it in data/bin/FH2_ExtraOptions.ini, under [Network] as Server=. If profile creation fails, verify this exact address rather than copying URLs from outdated messages.
Step 3 — Create your online profile
1. Run FH2 through Azimuth.
2. In-game open Settings > INFINITY > CREATE PROFILE.
3. Choose HARDCORE or NOOB:
•HARDCORE: start a fresh online career with the first car from your offline save; the server checks progression.
•NOOB: transfer your offline progress, cars and credits into your new online profile without progression checks.
4. Choose your name and confirm. The online identity may appear as Name#12345.
5. Let the game restart with your online profile.
HARDCORE and NOOB players cannot play together, including Free Roam, races, Rivals and friend lists. Coordinate your choice with friends. HARDCORE can be converted to NOOB later, but not the other way around.
Your original offline profile remains separate. Keep a backup anyway before changing online accounts or installation files.
Step 4 — Join or host a multiplayer session
Join a public world
1. Go to Settings > INFINITY > FIND WORLD to browse public worlds.
2. Alternatively, use FREE ROAM ONLINE to join a world hosted by a friend.
3. JOIN WORLD on a player's card can join the world that person is already in.
Prefer public worlds run by people you know.
Host your own public world
Open Settings > INFINITY > HOST WORLD. ForzaInfinity runs its bundled dedicated_server.exe on your PC and lists your world publicly. This is player-hosted networking, not FH2MP's central matchmaking.
Host a private session
Use the game's PRIVATE ONLINE SESSION > PRIVATE FREE ROAM option for an unlisted world. Invited players can join through your player card. Most worlds start at 8 players, and hosts can configure up to 12.
Step 5 — Start online races
In an online Free Roam world, drive to an event marker and start an event. Other players receive a short invitation (about 15 seconds). Players who accept compete in the same race, receive results and rewards, while others can remain in Free Roam. Hosts can disable races in world settings.
Use the same vehicle database across everyone in the world. Modified cars, different database files or changed car stats can break online compatibility.
Troubleshooting
Cannot create an Infinity profile
•Check whether your selected Infinity server is online.
•Confirm that Server= in data/bin/FH2_ExtraOptions.ini is the exact current address recommended by its operator.
•Verify that your game had already created an offline save.
Friends cannot find the same world
Confirm that both players use the same Infinity server and profile type. Open Settings > INFINITY > TEST CONNECTION to see whether NAT, blocked UDP or firewall restrictions prevent joining.
World hosting fails
The project uses peer connections, STUN and automatic NAT traversal. The built-in diagnostic reports your NAT status. On Windows, allow the world server on private networks when the OS prompts you. Avoid opening router ports unless needed and understood.
INFINITY menu disappears after Azimuth update
Azimuth updates can restore the original TLS helper. Close the game and run the ForzaInfinity installer again to restore its hook, settings and backup handling.
Backups and saves
On Azimuth 0.9.9/0.9.10, local profiles live under data/titles/1A96545B/saves/player-1. Online and offline users occupy distinct folders. ForzaInfinity keeps an original azimuth-tls.dll.stock backup. Use the project's Uninstall.cmd (or uninstall.sh) to remove its hook cleanly.
Important: do not mix FH2 multiplayer implementations
ForzaInfinity, FH2MP and FH2Net are separate projects. Their network components and changes to Azimuth should not be stacked in one installation without explicit confirmation of compatibility. FH2ML integration is not verified. To compare the systems, keep separate backups or clean Azimuth installations.
